Barney Fisher-Turner: Istanbul Food & Beverage Stylist

Barney Fisher-Turner was taught how to cook at the age of 13 by his mother who was a protege of the celebrated 1960s cookery writer Robert Carrier. After High School he worked for Hart Sharp Entertainment, a prestigious New York based film production company; during this time he worked as a grip on the academy award nominated film: 'You can count on me', aswell as the Hal Hartley short: 'Kimono'. He studied History of Art and Philosophy at University College London and worked as a Renaissance Art Dealer at an important London dealership; in the evenings he cultivated his strong interest in high quality food by running a stylish boutique catering company.

After moving to Turkey in 2004 he trained as a food & beverage stylist with the renowned specialist food photographer Ahmet Agaoglu; he also developed his technical skills with the London based food photographer, Tim Hill. In 2005 he chose to focus mainly on product styling for big name food and beverage brands; he does continue however to produce compositions for high quality magazines and cookery books. Barney is equally comfortable styling both stills and television commercials and has worked with many notable photographers, production companies and ad agencies in Istanbul. He is well known for effectively combining proficient technical ability, acute atention to detail and a creative approach to problem solving.

His International clients include McDonalds, Burger King, KFC, Pizza Hut, Dominos, Popeyes, Hellmans, Unilever, Tesco, Bosch, Fritolay, Total, and Tefal ; his Turkish clients include Ulker, Eti, Pinar, Banvit, Uno, Superfresh, Bahcivan, Yeni Raki, Mest Raki, Pasabache, Kale, Mudo, Selva and Hare. He also produces food compositions and writes regular food related columns and restaurant reviews for a number of top selling English and Turkish publications including The Times, Forbes, The Gate, The Guide-Istanbul and Food & Travel.

Currently he is based in Istanbul and London and divides his work between both cities; he is also able to travel to any location in Europe, The Americas and Asia.
